Fun With Nothing

I've been fighting back and forth with my school and the horrifying processes that make up the Fine Arts department, and that alone has been pressing most of my time lately. But I've been writing, too. I have all of the next album completely written; it's called The Luciferian Order, Part II : Black Elysium. It's much more progressive that Seraphim, and has a bigger mix, but I still can't decide which I like better. Just have to record all of it, and that process is inevitably strenuous.

While I record Elysium, I'm also working on an 8-track cover CD. I've chosen the tracklist already, but I'm not going to bother posting further info anywhere because I know I'll end up adjusting it before it's done.

End update, begin rambling. I've been listening to a lot of non-metal in the past months, mostly celtic stuff and new age music, both wonderful genres. Since I write so much damn music, I can't just appreciate anything anymore because I have to hear each instrument as an element, and then the music becomes a structure. This is a horrible thing when Carissa makes me listen to hip-hop, because that skeleton is extremely simple and repetitive. However, some of them have cool chord progressions and melodies, they just ruin it by using horrible lyrics or vocals, or by repeating it over and over and over. Something possessed me to listen to Lady Gaga while I ate dinner tonight (technically yesterday), and when you take out the hip-hop beat and completely ignore the lyrics, the songs are somewhat enjoyable. So I remixed one. Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi".

I feel like this is somehow going to haunt me in the future... Oh well. It sounds cool and it was fun.
